This explains how to manage Payroll when using the new Bank Reconciliation. Basically you clone the Ledger Entry from the previous month and overwrite the details. But this does not generate anything you can use in Bank Reconciliation, so the Payroll Ledger Entry posts the salaries payable to ‘2220 Salaries and Wages Payable’ and in Bank Reconciliation we add a [New Journal] of type ‘Bank Rec Money OUT’ to contra the posting to ‘2220 Salaries and Wages Payable’.

Here are some instructions from the Sage Financials Help :
Deleting rows can be a bit complicated:
You cannot delete Ledger Items in the edit mode, so first you have to Save what you have done
But you cannot save the Ledger Items with a blank Cr & Db – just put a 1 in one of the fields
Click on the ‘Save as Draft’ check box before saving so you can save a Ledger Entry that does not balance
Then you can select the Ledger Items to delete:
Then click the [Delete] button

In Bank Reconciliation you identify the different Payroll payments. For each one:
Click on [New Journal]
Choose Journal Type of ‘Bank Rec Money OUT’
Enter the correct date
Choose the correct ‘Ledger Account’:
Salary Payment: ‘2220 Salaries and Wages Payable’
HMRC payment: ‘2210 P.A.Y.E. Payable’
Pension payment: ‘2230 Pension Payable’
Now check that the ‘2220 Salaries and Wages Payable’ Ledger Account has a balance of zero (use ‘Ledger – LEDGER ACCOUNT STATEMENT’ subtab)
